This spice is derived from the ALLSPICE plant. It has digestive, carminative and antiseptic properties and is widely used to flavor grilled meat. Its fruits are vasodilators and increase the blood flow, giving a warming effect. An allspice berry infusion may be useful in case of respiratory infections.
